Several days ago, my husband and I returned from an 8-day trip to the beautiful island of Kauai, Hawaii. The sights in Kauai are quite amazing. We were fortunate enough to have a condo that overlooked the vast beauty of the Pacific Ocean. Six of the eight mornings we walked only 130 footsteps down to the beach to watch the sunrise over the ocean. The misty air in Kauai always brought enough clouds to reflect the golden rays and create spectacular light over the rolling waves.
One morning as I watched the sunrise, I thought about what a pleasant way it was to start the morning, witnessing the change from darkness to light. Then, I thought about the change that could happen if I asked the true Son to rise in my soul each day. If I chose to pray, “Let the Son rise in me” I would face each day with His Light shining on my every task. I would feel the peace of his presence. I would know the power of his love. I would experience the strength of his salvation. It’s a prayer that I am choosing to pray and maybe you will, too.
